20 year loyal customer forced to leave due to billing errors and zero help

I am deeply saddened that my relationship with Vodacom since 2006 has to end like this. My contract lines have been blocked since 6 July 2026. This has made it impossible for me to even reach customer care. I am no longer in a binding contract. I am on a month-to-month agreement. I was told I could call after 3 months if I was not happy.

When month 3 arrived, I could not pay the bill because Vodacom's insurance department double-charged me for my insured devices. This double-billing made the amount way too high to afford. Now, I am being charged a massive bill of R5,900. Yet, I have had absolutely no access to my data or network since both of my numbers were suspended on 6 July 2026.

I previously requested to pause my contract so I could cover the true outstanding amount. I also tried to make a payment arrangement (Ticket Number: ***). I was told that because the account is in arrears, they cannot pause it.

Because of this useless service, I will now wait for my account to be handed over. I will pay based strictly on my own affordability. I refuse to be forced into the 5-month payment period I am being given.

Furthermore, I will not pay the additional amounts charged for the two months that I have had absolutely no access to my data and network.

Vodacom does not care about long term customer loyalty. I regret ever trusting them with my money for over the years. Do not take any contract with them!
