16 Years loyalty means nothing to Vodacom and service is non existent

In August 2016 I decided to cancel my Vodacom contract with Vodacom after being a client for 16 years to try and save some money by going prepaid. The consultant convinced me to switch to a cheaper contract, this is where the “fun” started. When making calls my number showed as private number, no biggie something must have gone wrong with the migration to the new package.

I phoned Vodacom in November to log a call for the issue, I was advised that some parameter was set on my account and it was removed, I should restart my phone the next morning and the issue will be resolved. However the issue was not resolved, phoned 3 days later…. Same story, corrective action did not work. In December I went to a vodashop, was told the issue is my phone, the consultant had a look confirmed it’s not the phone. Placed the sim in a different phone, issue persists.

The consultant at the vodashop said she’ll log a call and took my details. 30 Minutes later the consultant informs me I’ll need to log the call as she’s not allowed to. I logged another call with Vodacom on 22 December, exclaiming my frustration as my calls are not answered because of the private number being displayed.

On 28 December I received a sms that the issue was resolved…. Still not fixed! Yet the call was closed.

In January when I got back from leave I phoned again and was asked to give them 72 hours for the issue to be rectified. (Consultant Liza)

Last week Monday 13 Feb I phoned again, same story they need 72 Hours. I advised the consultant that if it’s not fixed I’ll have to cancel my contract, consultant agreed that after 3 months it’s unacceptable for the issue not to be resolved.

Now comes the cherry on the cake, keep in mind every call I logged the consultant said they’ll phone me back, not once did I get a call back! So yesterday 13 Feb I phone into the cancellations department. I explained everything again and the need for cancellation because Vodacom is clearly not able to resolve my issue…. The first words the consultant (Phelelo) says is I’ll have to pay a cancellation fee. CANCELLATION FEE!!!! You guys are the problem and I have to pay! I refuse to pay because of your incompetence! Is this the new standard to treat clients!

So Phelelo asks me to hold on so she can talk to a Manager. Informed 8 minutes later that the manager is not in and she’ll phone me back by end of day. I confirmed again before end of business, yet no call received.

You forced my hand to load a stop payment, now I take it I’ll be blacklisted by Vodacom for this, funny how after 16 years I’m treated like a dog… All because you are ***********!!!!!!
