10-year loyal customer disgusted by unauthorized contract changes, R4000 bill, and pathetic management

I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for 10 years, but the service I have received over the last 3 months is completely pathetic. I am facing gross negligence regarding both my home internet and a recent cellphone upgrade, and your customer service management is completely unreachable. First, an agent from your Johannesburg BPO broker (Rewards Co / Mondo) completely misled me. I escalated this to a manager there named Ashton Pillay to fix the issue. Instead of resolving the problem, Ashton Jeremy Pillay himself cancelled my home internet contract without my consent and loaded a completely new package. I am now looking at a statement for an astronomical R4,000 for home internet—an amount I never agreed to. Second, I processed a cellphone upgrade, but received the incorrect items. I sent the package back immediately. Despite not having the device, my account has already been debited for the new SIM card. Now I am being told the phone is being sent back to me again, meaning my account will be wrongfully debited a second time. Your agents expect me to send emails and wait 7 to 14 working days for a refund for Vodacom’s internal blunders. You are quick to take money but completely *********** when it comes to fixing your own mistakes. I work as a Head of Quality Assurance in the call center industry myself, and the behavior of your internal and BPO staff is shocking. Leaders drop calls, agents refuse to escalate, and managers are perpetually "in meetings." In a real customer-centric business, managers leave what they are doing to resolve severe client issues. I need a senior manager from Vodacom—not a generic helpdesk agent—to call me TODAY before my debit date to freeze these incorrect charges and reinstate my correct contract terms. If this is not resolved immediately, I am taking this matter straight to ICASA and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO).

"I explicitly stated in my complaint that I do not want a generic helpdesk consultant to contact me. A standard agent does not have the administrative authority to reverse an unauthorized contract cancellation, dispute a R4,000 bill caused by a BPO manager (Ashton Pillay), or handle structural operational complaints.
I require a Senior Operations Manager or an Executive Escalations Team Leader to call me today. If a standard consultant calls me with a script and no power to immediately freeze these incorrect debits, the call will be wasted and I will proceed straight to ICASA and the CGSO before close of business today. Please escalate this to someone who can actually make decisions."

I received a callback on Friday from what appears to be a manager at Vodacom, but the behavior was shocking. Instead of taking ownership of a massive billing crisis, this manager sounded completely irritated, defensive, and entirely uninterested in the severe gross negligence on my account. When I tried to explain the full scope of my issue—the home internet mess and the cell phone upgrade billing error—she literally shut me down and said, "Let's first sort this issue out with your WiFi."
She then ended the call by promising, "Let me get back to you later." It is now Monday, and I have heard absolutely nothing. She left me hanging over the entire weekend while my debit date on the 1st of the month is rapidly approaching.
As a Head of Quality Assurance in a call center environment myself, I am utterly appalled. If your management tier lacks basic active listening skills, empathy, and a sense of urgency, it is no wonder your front-line agents are dropping calls. You are quick to debit an account for thousands of Rands due to your own internal blunders, but your leadership treats a 10-year loyal customer like a nuisance when they demand it be fixed.
My debit order is going off in a few days. I need answers, and I need this resolved BEFORE the 1st. If that R4,000 is wrongfully deducted from my account because your management team failed to follow up, I am not just going to ICASA—I am taking legal action for unauthorized debit orders.
You have pushed me to my absolute limit over the last 3 months. The moment my contract terms are done, I am leaving Vodacom permanently. Someone with actual competence needs to call me back immediately.
