01 March 2026 – Ongoing Billing Dispute, Credit Misallocation & ******** Suspension

This dispute has been ongoing since June 2025 after a Vodacom agent misrepresented contracts, resulting in two devices being delivered under incorrect terms. On 17 June 2025, I cancelled and requested collection. I also informed Vodacom that the SIM card for the second device was never delivered, never activated and never used. Despite this, I was billed for that contract. Vodacom only collected the devices on 13 August 2025. Billing continued for nearly two months on cancelled and unused services. On 26 August 2025, Vodacom approved a credit of approximately R5,124.22 to correct their error. I was informed this would cover September, October and November 2025 billing. Yet I was later told October 2025 was unpaid. This clearly indicates that the approved credit was not correctly app**** or allocated. Despite repeated requests, I have not received a full reconciliation reflecting how the R5,124.22 was processed. Since then: • Repeated service suspensions while the dispute is ongoing • Contradictory explanations from different agents • No transparent, itemised reconciliation • Escalation to the CEO’s Office without final resolution After my last public complaint, a Vodacom agent confirmed the matter was under investigation and reinstated my lines. Today, 01 March 2026, they are suspended again. This conduct potentially breaches: • Consumer Protection Act (Sections 41, 48, 54) – misleading representation, unfair practices, failure to provide services of acceptable standard. • ICASA End-User Regulations – inaccurate billing and unfair disconnection during a bona fide dispute. • Common law principles prohibiting unjust enrichment (billing for an unactivated SIM). Eight months later, I still have: • No proper reconciliation • No consistent explanation • No lawful justification for repeated suspensions Resolution sought: Immediate cancellation of all affected contracts with no penalties, no early termination charges, no adverse credit reporting, and written confirmation of zero liability. Vodacom’s handling of this matter reflects systemic billing and compliance failures.
