GROSS NEGLIGENCE - TERMINALLY ILL PATIENT LEFT WITHOUT OXYGEN
My mother is terminally ill with severe emphysema , she is on oxygen 24/7.Called them on Tues 02/10 @ 6h48 in the morning to report this. When i called the regional manager Janie Senekal she told me "call the number on the machine".Number on the machine is the call centre they do not answer the calls.By Wednesday only nurse Vusi delivered another machine which again was faulty , this was reported and we received 2 different versions 1. Vusi said a battery needs to be changed in order to let the alarm go off (because the machine simply stops working without any warning) 2 Janie Senekal insists we get an electrician out because it is our electricity that is faulty.Another night on an oxygen cylinder because Bestmed paid vitalair so no worries there about a terminally ill patient.Thu 04/10 - Vusi returned just to inform the patient if the machine gets hot (so hot that you cannot even touch the back of it) to switch machine off for a while.WHAT DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT HER NEEDING OXYGEN 24/7?????Janie Senekal then informs Vitalair that the machine is on a lead according to Vusi.I took the machine this morning to my neighbour's home to test it on their electricity and we are receiving the same trouble there. THE ATTITUDE OF MANAGEMENT AND STAFF AT VITALAIR IS OUTRAGEOUS.AND THESE ARE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAS TO SUPPLY OXYGEN TO PATIENTS.
