Very unfair practice

If you ever wish to insure with “VIRSEKER” think twice. I had a very nasty experience with them when claiming for my bicycle been ******. My short term insurance was effective from 15 July 2018 and my funds already deducted from my account My bicycle was ****** on 29 Aug. 2018. I reported it to the local SAPD as well as to “VIRSEKER” claims department. Two days later the consultant called me informing me that they require proof of purchase as well as the amount I payed and also that my policy with them was only 1½ months old !! When I purchased the item about 18 months ago it was totally a private sale which I have no receipt at all. Who on earth retains all your receipts for items bought in any case , but only those that are still under a valid guarantee I enclosed a sworn SAPD affidavit under oath stating when I purchased it, the amount as well as the approximate date 18 months ago. Surely this serves as positive proof. My claim was rejected. I forwarded it to their dispute department. The lady consultant then required a bank statement reflecting the amount I drew from my own account to purchase the bicycle. I mentioned that I did not but paid cash, which she rep**** where I obtained the cash. My bank statements and my cash I have, has got absolutely nothing to do with them. It is personal. I do not ask them how much they earn and what they do with their money. Again my claim was rejected!!! Now I have forwarded all the relating documents to the Ombudsman for further investigation and hopefully I will receive positive feedback in the near future. I have read many reviews about “VIRSEKER” and they mostly reply that they apologise for the inconvenience, but a consultant will call back. I trust that because I posted this on Hello Peter it shall not jeopardize my complaint.
