Insurance sold - Unwillingness to commit to what was sold
I have a huge concern with regards to the claim I posted on the virseker site a while ago. I put forward a claim in which I stated that a pothole damaged my Mercedes Benz’s front right tyre (Pirelli). Obviously I replaced it immediately but in doing so I also requested “Commando Bande” to assess the tyre and confirm the nature of the damage by means of a formal report / statement. I registered the claim with all the necessary documentation attached seeing that I have this new “small incident insurance” that will cover the damage. Subsequent to the logging the claim it was rejected based on the excuse that the claim is less or equal than the excesses payment of R 1800-00. One of the sales agents forwarded the sales voice recording and I spend some time working through it and I cannot pick-up any statement from (Ishman Abraham – Sales Lady – if spelled correctly) mentioning the excesses payment. 2:00 minutes into the sales discussion mention was made of R100-00 co-payment for tyre and rim replacement. The tyre that was replaced had 1mm wear on it and obviously the tire was basically brand new. In summary, I am not happy and honestly confused with the way the claim is being managed at the moment. During the whole discussion no mention was made of the R1800-00 access and I trust that you will look into this and advise as to the way forward.
