I recently submitted a claim to Virseker for my microwave oven that stopped working

I recently submitted a claim to Virseker for my microwave oven that stopped working. I was honest enough to say that I don't think it broke because of loadshedding, because after the last time we had loadshedding, I plugged my microwave into a surge protector plug. It still could've been damaged by power spikes before I started using the protection plug. I live on a farm, and we often have power spikes here. With the last spike, it blew out the light of the microwave. That is where the damage started. Virseker refused to pay out my claim of R2500 because it is a "mechanical" problem. I pay R465 p m for unsurance and they refuse to pay out R2500. If I claim that the damage was caused by loadshedding, then I would have to pay R1500 in excess. Repairs will cost me the same price as a new microwave. Excuses from Virseker to not pay. I am taking my Insurance money somewhere else.
