No stock. No reply to compalint. WASTE OF MONEY

In short my phone was taken, and I needed to recover my number urgently. I am not the account holder - my father is. I asked him to cancel the contract, so I could transfer the number to my work cell. The call centre said the easiest way to get my number back would be to buy a new phone and a sim, and my father would phone and request a sim swap. I travelled to:
4 shopping centers
3 Pick 'n Pays
2 Edgars
1 Virgin Mobile store x 2
The first time I visited Virgin Mobile Cedar square, the assistant told me that to cancel the contract would take no time at all and would be done immediately. I asked my dad to do this again (who lives in Limpopo), and drove home. Call centre then explains it takes 30 days for a cancellation to be activated. Which means I have to drive back to Cedar Square to buy a sim. I opted to go to a closer store the following day. I tried Forest Hill, Centurion Mall, and finally Fourways Mall to try find a Virgin sim card at a Pick 'n Pay, or Edgars. None of them had stock. Finally drove to Cedar Square to the Virgin outlet. I arrived at 14:30 to find the store closed. It was supposed to only close at 15:00. FURIOUS. Called to complain - still no reply!!
