cant make calls

I have been trying to make calls for the last four hours and it keeps saying that my sim doesnt exist and is invalid. Why? I can't call you all of a sudden and and my contract is not even finished. I have airtime and data. I can receive calls even. Why can't I call out. I mean I can't even call you to tell you.
