Beware of Virgin Mobile cheating you out of V2V minutes and SMSs previously bought
I have phoned Virgin mobile customer services and they confirmed that they have made it impossible for anyone to recharge with a package that contains V2V (Virgin to Virgin) minutes. They claim that even though we have recharged, we did not recharge with a package that contains V2V minutes (as Virgin Mobile changed all their packages so that none contain V2Vminutes). Virgin made it impossible for us to keep the minutes by changing the bagit deals and claims that they thereby earn the right to take away the minutes that we previously bought. Surely this is not within the spirit of the CPA and common law. I wonder if it is hundreds or millions that are being treated this way. How can such a big company be allowed to have no regard for a customer's rights?
The v2v service is no longer available. The promotion package "bag it deal" which included the v2v has been changed as per business ruling and a whats app bundle has been added.
We will be introducing new promotions in the near future.

Londiwe

There is a contractual relationship between Virgin Mobile and their customers. Nowhere did Virgin Mobile inform me that if I recharge with a "bag it deal", sometime in the future, Virgin Mobile can take what I bought back (without compensation). By failure to communicate this intent, Virgin Mobile acted in a ********* manner.
It is a breach of contract if Virgin Mobile prevents a customer from recharging and thereby cause the customer loss (financial or otherwise). Ask any attorney specializing in contractual law. This means Virgin Mobile is in breach of contract, if they prevent you from recharging any specific item.
Virgin Mobile also deleted about 980 SMSs that I had, even though I recharged them. What is the excuse for this?
Virgin Mobile CEO Zak van der Merwe placed Virgin Mobile in business rescue. Tell Zak, you do not rescue a business by cheating your customers. Customers are not stupid and see that you charge them per minute for calls even if the call last 10 seconds.
If you want to rescue Virgin Mobile, then be honest and act in transparent way. I do not believe Virgin Mobile can do this and will advise all their customers to port immediately to another provider.
