5 years & still not resolved
5 yrs ago (15 March 2011) my Virgin Mobile account was terminated and the outstanding amount owed on my faulty handset was written off by VMSA.

15 months later (10 May 2012), I was advised by SA Home Loans that VMSA had given this supposed outstanding account to a debt collection agency. I contacted VMSA and their team profusely apologised for the oversight and confirmed in writing, that this was an error on their side and that my file was closed with the debt collectors.

One month later (11 June 2012), I received a phone call from another debt collection agency for the same issue. Again, VMSA apologised and again confirmed in writing that this was an error on VMSA's side and that I did not owe anything.

Almost 4 yrs later (today, 27 January 2016), and I have just got off the phone with DMC who have advised that there is R887 outstanding on my ancient VMSA account.

In email trails dating back to 2011 VMSA in each instance admitted the error and confirmed in writing that there is no money outstanding.

Now that it's happened a 3rd time it's clear that written confirmation from VMSA is not worth much at all. I expect a quick, permanent solution.
