We recently went and had lunch at Villa Bianca. The first disturbing thing I noticed was the entrance. There were about 5 or 6 steps just to get into the building from the parking area. One step in particular was very large. We were shown to a table and ordered a drink for each of us. My wife ordered lamb chops for R295 and I ordered ravioli for R195. I was quite amazed when my food arrived. I'm sure the ravioli would have weighed less than 200 gm, which means the serving would have cost close to R1,000 / kg. There was between 2 and 3 times as much dough than the meat - which then would have weighed well under 100 gm. They charged R52 for a bottle of Sir Juice orange juice, which anyone could buy in a supermarket for less than a third that price. The service was mediocre and the noise level was almost intolerable. To sum up - it was a very overpriced, unpleasant lunch.

Disappointing service at Villa Bianca. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my son’s 16th birthday and spent over R2,000, expecting a special occasion. We were seated with full knowledge that we were there for the sushi special, yet after placing our first order, we were informed that most items on the “special” were unavailable. What made the experience worse was the manager’s attitude. Instead of offering a solution or apology, he chose to argue and justify the shortages, which is unacceptable for someone managing an establishment of this calibre. This was my fifth visit and will certainly be my last. The standards have dropped significantly, which is disappointing for a restaurant that markets itself as an upmarket venue
