Victoria and Alfred waterfront Misleading 1st 90 minutes parking free
I especially drove to the waterfront again today to pop my recycling into the machine at the pick n pay entrance at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The parking machine read that the the 1st 90 minutes are free if you produce your pick and pay barcode slip which I obediently put under the infrared scanning line. Once again it didn't register. I pressed the red button on the machine to ask for assistance. An extremely rude lady by the name of Sihle around 11:45 am today told me that the Pick and Pay slip had to be for a minimum purchase of R200 for the parking to be free. I I formed her that the machine makes no note of this. Also it hasn't registered in the past despite making purchases in excess of R200 and producing the pick and pay slip barcode. I tried to explain that I often quickly pop into the waterfront to quickly drop my reculycling into the machine and then leave and it has never accepted my pick pay slip for a registered discount. She became even more rude, spoke over me, didn't acknowledge what I said and treated me as if I am either deaf or stupid. She abused her position of power and just told me that I had to pay. She didn't allow me an opportunity to speak and kept interrupting me and speaking over me and refused to assist in any manner. She also said that her supervisor is not available when I asked to speak with her senior. +*** I called the parking service and the gentleman who answered was very polite and explained that the purchase at pick and pay had to be for a minimum of R200. He also acknowledged that the parking machine made no mention of this. The phone cut out and the Sihle refused to speak with me as I was holding up traffic behind me waiting for her to open the boom. 2 other female parking attendees came to assist. To pay R15 for parking isn't an issue. But then don't advertise the 1st 90 min for free on the machine. This is misleading, seemingly false advertising and one feels deceived or cheated somehow. Sihle's front that works on the intercom should be reprimanded for her abusive and rude tone of voice.she has absolutely no soft skills or manners. She spoke down to me. The waterfront receive several international visitors. What if I were on vacation. Is this the type of treatment she dishes our to locals and visitors alike???
