Pathetic Service/Security at V&A Waterfront

On Monday 28th October, my husband and I were at the V&A Waterfront Shopping center Cape Town.

As we were making our way out to leave the center, at the Musica entrance, whilst paying our parking. A guy was standing and taking a pee, right there in front of us flashing his genetils around. When the guy was done, he nicely zipped up his pants, smiled and walked away. My husband then stopped the guy to tell him that what he had done was disgusting and that there are bathrooms in and outside the center, the guy then started going ballistic, swearing at my husband. I shouted and called for security, only one came and told the guy to apologize to me, which he did not, in fact he looked at me and asked "what the **** has it got to do with you", calling me a *****, **** and all other words. I then left the center, feeling extremely embarrassed and angry to think the Waterfront security did absolutely nothing to the guy whilst he was shouting, swearing or peeing in public, which is actually a ******** offense.

Thereafter I called the Waterfront center management, only to stay on the line, on hold for almost 30mins. The manager on duty did not want to take my call. I spoke to Nawaal, McCloud and they kept putting me on hold with no solution. I then left my details with them and was assured I would receive a call from their head of security. No-one ended up calling. I then called their Head Office on Tuesday morning 29th October, only to get told that the guy who had urinated in public, swore at my husband and I, and embarrassed us in public was a British/Caucasian guy who had not understood what he had done and he wasn't mentally stable.

First of all, he looked completely mentally okay to me as he was abit drunk. Also, so does it mean if you're a foreigner and drunk you can behave and act as you like, when you like and no consequences will be dealt with. I am highly disappointed in the Waterfront security and even more in their Head office and no one was willing to help or even stand up for us. The guy from the Head Office told me that the police had came the same evening, 28th October when it happened yet nobody informed me even after leaving my details countless times. I am extremely disappointed, hurt, angry and ashamed. I want more! I DEMAND MORE!! THE SERVICE I RECEIVED WAS PATHETIC.
