Companies doing me in

Hi I have a loan with Capitec which I just couldn't pay because my husband lost his income. I was handed over to Ver-tex and eventually a gentleman came looking for me at my work place, because it's humiliating I signed that I will pay because he said they would take further steps. I am currently paying R2000 in the loan through them but when I look at my statement not even R500 of the R2000 goes to my loan it all goes to arrear fees.if this is the case I would never pay up the account and would be paying capitec forever causing me to go more into sept it is daylight ******* and need urgent help.
