The most useless institution in this country.

As an online student, you would expect that the entirety of the program is online. Having to write exams on campus has been a large inconvenience, having a full time job - hence signing up for online.

Despite this inconvenience, I went to Varsity College Sandton to write my psychology exam on the 23rd of June. Once arriving on campus, I was directed to academic reception where I would find my exam venue. One venue received, the whole online group proceeded to the venue. Exam was supposed to start at 8am, at 8:30, we were still sitting in the venue waiting for an invigilator. Thereafter, Varsity College instructed US to go back to academic reception and wait for direction rather than sort out the problem themselves. We then were told we were in the wrong venue and needed to walk across campus to the correct venue. We then proceeded to begin our exam at 9am after Varsity Colleges massive mess up!!

This morning, 06 July, I arrive for my next psychology exam, this time venue had been distributed before after VC received many scathing emails and we proceeded to the venue timely. Once seated in the venue, the invigilator discovers there are no exam papers for us, nor is there a register for the online students. After sitting in the venue for 40 minutes, after 8am (when the exam was supposed to start) eventually someone rocks up with the papers for our module and we began our paper at 8:40 with the invigilator making the comment of “we are trying to accommodate the online students, you are not supposed to be on our campus”.

Quite frankly, I would have preferred to write online since doing an ONLINE module. I am disgusted by the unprofessionalism that one institution can repeatedly show. This is not the first case of VC, either. I have problems with them every week!!!

This is the most useless institution and will actually cause you more pain to deal with them than to actually receive a good quality education. I highly recommend not attending VARSITY COLLEGE!!
