No stars really!!! - Do not recommend!

I do not recommend Varsity College !!! At all! So much dissatisfaction over the years but I’ll speak on this year because it’s been the worst!

The institution does little to nothing in order to support it’s students to get through their qualifications … especially through problems that they (the institution) should be managing.

I work full time and am doing my degree on part time basis. This obviously means that I have to schedule school work and align it with my work schedule. This was almost impossible in the 1st semester because the system glitches were “resolved” (not really resolved because I’m still have a terrible experience in the 2nd semester) so late into the semester that they (the institution) then set assignment submissions so close together.

This made meeting these deadlines impossible . I expressed the frustration this caused me on a platform called the “The VCTown hall” but the respondent just wanted to defend the educational brand and not really understand the sort of assistance and support I’d need as a part time student.

Fast forward to 2nd semester… my modules take a while to be loaded on the system so I miss my first classes. I’m eventually able to access my module content and am allocated to lecturers/ tutors. I immediately start on the work…

For my work integrated learning module, which is a group module that simulates a group internship program. I am allocated Bobby Keller as a lecturer. I catch up on missed classes and get into a group with 6 other students as required. And start working on the milestones to complete this simulation project. I suddenly start getting emails from other tutors for the same module (WIL) … I log a VC assist ticket to have this resolved and request that they don’t remove me from my current lecturer’s group because I’ve already started working on everything the said lecturer requires.

I get a response this afternoon that I have been allocated a different lecturer and can’t request to change . Meanwhile I wasn’t requesting to randomly change to a lecturer I like… I requested to keep the lecturer THEY had already allocated me to. And made this request Because I had already started work according to the schedule he had set.

I’m frustrated and fed up with the treatment I’ve gotten from VC . I also feel unsupported and shortchanged ! I pay so much money but all I get is dissatisfaction and disappointment. Trying to get the qualification has been so emotionally taxing!!! And I am just tired of the nonsense!
