Harassment by SABC TV licence collectors

I received a continuous stream of telephone calls, mostly in the evening or late at night, from staff members of VVM Attonerys, 332 Kent Ave, Randburg, trying to bully me into giving my personal details (specifically ID) over the telephone. They claim that I own a SABC TV-licence which is two years in arrears, and rudely demanded immendiate payment of R550. (As a pensioner I qualify for a consession TV licence, if I needed one). My wife has a valid TV (concession) licence dating back to the previous century. We have been married all this time, living under the same roof, using the same TV set. All this explanation was not acceptable to messrs VVM, and my offer to fax a copy of my wife's TV licence to them was refused. Their staff is rude to the extreme, threatening, and demanding. I finally contacted the SABC's TV licence division to complain, only to be told that they "renewed" my TV licence since I bought a TV set two years ago, providing details of my wife's TV licence. I object to the harassment I was subjected to by VVM, and about the SABC's TV licence division's inability to keep proper records.
