Shocking Service!!!!
I have always been a dedicated supporter of VAG Centurion, but my recent experience with VAG Spec Menlyn has been deeply disappointing.
I initially took my Audi to this repair center for an oil leak, and right from the start, there was a complete lack of status updates. After the repairs, I received the vehicle back, but the oil leak persisted. I returned the vehicle to the repair center, having already paid a substantial amount for the initial repairs. Again, obtaining updates on the vehicle's status was a struggle, forcing me to visit the repair center in person.
During one such visit, I noticed a scratch on my vehicle and brought it to the attention of the workshop manager. He said he would investigate the matter and later sent me a distorted photo of the front of my vehicle, claiming they document all pre-existing scratches and denying the damaged was caused at the centre. Interestingly, the photo showed the vehicle in the exact same spot as it was when I pointed out the scratch.
When the vehicle was finally ready for collection, I received the invoice, again with substantial costs. I contacted two parts suppliers to verify the pricing as I found the costs for non-original parts to be rather high. One part was cheaper from an original parts supplier, and the other non-original parts were much cheaper than invoiced, indicating a substantial markup by the repair center.
Upon arriving to collect my vehicle, I requested to speak with the workshop manager to discuss the part prices. I was informed he was unavailable. When I asked for the regional manager's contact number, a highly unprofessional and entitled staff member told me they couldn’t provide it and suggested I either speak with the workshop manager or take the matter to the ombudsman.
It was evident that the staff at this center lacked professionalism and competence. I eventually managed to contact the regional manager and explained my concerns. I trusted the vehicle was now in good working condition but soon discovered a strong oil smell. Upon inspection, I found that the bonnet support/strut arm was broken, and the engine was making a distinctive scratchy/rattling noise. After incurring a hefty cost, the engine seems to be worse off, and I now have additional damage that require repairs. I have given the regional manager the opportunity to respond, but even if he does, I highly doubt that VAG Spec Menlyn has the technical capabilities or expertise to repair the vehicle. The only course of action then would be to take the matter to the ombudsman.
I am perplexed by VAG Spec Menlyn's claims that they are Audi specialists. Based on my experience, I highly doubt this to be true.
