VHI is a***!

<div>I joined VHI two years ago, after a very good salesman assured me that I will receive R80 000 per year from VHI, simply because I owned three weeks of timeshare and I belonged to RCI. (RCI issued a statement, not long ago, that they had nothing to do with VHI.) I will not go into details, because this was told to me verbally. I signed the contract there and then, trusting the salesman and without taking it home first and studying the small print properly, and without making some calculations. So, the membership for the two years cost me R80 000 and I realised that this membership has not been of any benefit to me and that I have wasted my money, seeing that I can book vacations through other places for the same amounts that VHI could offer it to me, or less, and it never costed me R70 000 plus R9000 in extra monthly payments, plus another R120 000 (Reliance Benefit Contributions) over the next eight years. (Then I still had to pay for the holidays they could offer me at a 'discount'.) This Reliance Benefit Contribution needs to be paid to guarantee the repayment of the initial R80 000 I 'invested' and to keep my 'membership'. So, after 8 years that initial R80 000 will probably be worth R40 000 or less, due to inflation. On top of it all, if you do not pay your RBC, you lose your membership, and after 10 years, the RBC may be halved, but, you still have to carry on paying it! (VHI reserves the right to increase this contribution by a maximum of 8% per year.) So, for me, having been brought under the impression that I would get an 'income' from VHI that would cover the costs of my 'investment' and basically pay for my holidays, this has been a complete rip-off! VHI should be ashamed of themselves and I do not want to have anything to do with them anymore. PLEASE DO NOT EVER BE PRESSURISED INTO SIGNING ANY DOCUMENTS BEFORE YOU READ IT PROPERLY.
