Clever Talk

We were contacted by this company and we told them very clearly we were not interested in Holiday points, timeshare, bonus breaks, etc, as we have more than enough with both Dream Vacations and Easy Holidays. They said that they can make our points and our holiday home make money for us, and that they would pay us a charge a flat rate for our holiday home of 180GBP per night, after all their commissions, etc. They also said that they would be able to make a substantial amount of income for us on our holiday points, whereby we could sell the "usage of our points" to them, and buy the same holiday at discounted rates via their website. They also gave us a holiday voucher supposedly worth R50,000.00 whether we signed up or not. When we went into more detail regarding our holiday home, he said that they would list it, advertise it, do the bookings, etc, and pass on the money to us made from the bookings. He also guaranteed 11 months out of 12 months occupancy. All the paperwork looked legitimate, and we paid a deposit of R14,500.00, with a further amount of R3,000.00 to be deducted from our bank account for two years. We then contacted their offices and I asked for all the info that pertained to the discussion, as it was too much information to take in at that time, I couldn't remember everything he said. After more calls and e-mails, we still have not been able to "list" our points or holiday home with them, and no one has called us to assist or explain how we do it. The last email I sent I told them I was going cancelling the monthly stop order, and that I would be going to the consumer council to try and do something about the deposit and two month's payments that they have had out of us already. I also sent our Holiday Points companies an email asking if they are aware of this company saying that they can use our points on our behalf and make money for us from them. They rep**** saying they are not affiliated in any way with VHI and members should not do any transactions with them. We feel that we were hoodwinked, and that what they have done is downright *****. I will be cancelling the stop order and I will be going to the consumer council, but if anyone has any advice on how to get our money back and to stop this company from catching anyone else, we'd be really grateful.
