UNHAPPY GRADUAND

Unfortunately I draft this with utter frustation and dissapointment with the institution.

Myself and other students are due for graduation however there has been no communication as to why we have not recieved any graduation invitations. I had to call countless times only to be told that the institution has been blocked from verifying qualilifications with MIE.

I tried assisting the Verifications/Exams office with calling UNISA (my first qualification is from there) with no avail. I have exhausted options trying to assist the Verifications department of VUT. I even sent them a report from SAQA to try and assist them however it was rejected.

What frustrates me the most is that we are not being updated about the issue at hand. We only being told if we miss this graduation then we will graduate in April 2023. How does this became our issue now as students?

This is appalling for such a big institution! Communication is a weakness for the institution, just like last semester where graduands were told a few days before graduation commenced and I guess history is repeating itself and with even bigger issues.

I am from KZN and need to make travel & accommodation arrangements beforehand including for my parents. But how do I do that when I haven't even been informed of anything about my graduation.

I have screenshots of call records trying to call UNISA& VUT to fasten up the process and assist your verifications department of is not a good image of the department.

Please may management intervene and assist!
