About 2 months ago, I purchased a Toyota Hilux from Vaal Toyota. At the time of sale, I was assured that the vehicle was in good condition and that if anything went wrong within 6 months, they would take responsibility and assist.

Unfortunately, since taking delivery, the vehicle has had multiple issues and breakdowns. It has not been reliable, and I’ve had to take it back repeatedly.

What’s most disappointing is that when I approached the dealership to resolve this, they refused to take the vehicle back. They offered me much less than what I paid them 2 months ago and I have barely driven it.

This has had a serious impact on me personally and professionally. I rely on my vehicle for my businesses, and being without a reliable car has resulted in significant financial loss, as well as additional costs like fuel just to keep taking it back for checks.

I’m currently trying to resolve this directly with Vaal Toyota and hope they will do the right thing and honour both their promises and their obligations under the Consumer Protection Act.

I’m sharing this not out of anger, but to be transparent about my experience and to encourage accountability.

If anyone from Vaal Toyota or Toyota South Africa can assist in resolving this matter, I would appreciate it.

Willie gave me his word and did not honor it.

Additionally had they kept their word I would've bought many more vehicles from them. I have a mobile business and was looking for a fleet of hilux vehicles. I would've also recommended them to my network, friends and family. I think it's very shortsighted of them. They literally would've have lost no money by honoring their word and now have lost a lot of future business.
