Vaal Toyota Vereeniging Pathetic Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Service at Vaal Toyota Vereeniging (VTV).
I called VTV the end of November 2018 to make an appointment for the service of my Toyota Hilux. After giving my registration number the branch told me that the vehicle is still under service plan, and that there is no payment needed. As I planned a trip to Europe in December 2018, leaving the 9th and returning the 4th of January i arranged that my parents take my vehicle for the service on the Monday the 10th of December, so that the service can take place on the 11th. The morning of the 11th the branch phoned my parents letting them know that the vehicle service plan has expired, there was a mistake on their side, and an additional amount should be payed by them. They called me while oversees with the information and i told them to phone VTV to stop the service, as i will rather take it for a service on my return to SA, and not letting my parents pay for it prior to the Christmas season.
The branch had no problem with the situation, and the vehicle was collected. Luckily my parents did not travel with the vehicle over December, as it was standing most of the time at my house. When i returned on the 4th of January riding with my vehicle 50 m i heard a strange sound. I stopped immediately opened the bonnet and found the air filter cover open, not secured with the clips, WITHOUT ANY FILTER...
On the morning of the 7th of January 2019 i returned to VTV. On arrival stopping the vehicle in front of the service center a HUGE rat came running out of the work shop, jumping onto the wheel of my vehicle climbing inside the bonnet. Luckily personnel of VTV saw it with me, and we removed the rat from my vehicle, letting it just run back into the workshop... I entered and directly spoke to the service manager. He did apologize, and i accepted it as i asked for a letter that VTV is responsible for any damage caused to the turbo and noticed within the next 10 0000km. I did receive a letter like that from them.
I then booked the vehicle in for its service, together with a few other thing that was wrong. The afternoon when collecting the vehicle i paid and was assured that everything is fine with the vehicle. After a service the vehicle usually gets washed, although it was washed there was still ground and cable ties on the back, how do you explain that???
With a HUGE SHOCK as I left VTV I heard exactly the same noise from the engine as before. I immediately returned to VTV and asked the manager to open the bonnet to inspect the air filter. After the service which i payed, and was promised everything is now fine, there was still no air filter. This is extremely BAD service from a dealer. I asked the question, what surety do i have that the rest of the service was completed??? This is truly unacceptable. His response was just again that he is sorry for that and that he understand that i am furious...
As a huge Toyota fan, driving my second Toyouta Hilux 4x4, (first one was ****** after 2 months) does we as customers have a foot to stand on? Am i allowed to refuse to pay for the service? Will anything happen to the Vaal Toyota Vereenging Branch? Can you as Toyota South Africa please advise??
Disappointed Customer Thank You Francois Geldenhuys
