Poor Exit Process and Lack of Accountability

I would like to express my disappointment with my experience dealing with Urban Task Force following my move-out in September last year.

Almost a year after vacating the property, I have been presented with charges for items and issues that were already present when I moved into the unit. What is particularly concerning is that Urban Task Force has indicated that they do not have records of my move-in inspection report, my lease agreement or other key documentation related to my tenancy. Despite the lack of supporting records, I am still being held liable for alleged damages and additional costs.

I have also been charged for boiler-related issues, despite the fact that the Boiler was discontinued and we had not hot water during my tenancy. It is difficult to understand how I can be held responsible for matters that were either pre-existing or related to maintenance concerns beyond my control.

The communication throughout this process has been extremely poor. I have been referred from one department to another with little to no assistance or accountability. Rather than receiving clear answers and support, I have spent considerable time following up and trying to obtain information that should have been readily available.

I was further surprised to learn that an exit inspection report had been completed without my presence. I was never given the opportunity to participate in the exit inspection or verify the findings. The property manager appears to have conducted the inspection independently after I had returned the keys. As a result, I am now being presented with claims regarding missing items and damages without having had any opportunity to confirm or dispute these findings at the time.

To date, a significant portion of my deposit has been withheld, and I have additionally been informed that I owe further money. However, no one has been able to provide me with sufficient documentation or a satisfactory explanation to justify these charges.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. The lack of records, poor communication, absence of transparency during the exit process and ongoing difficulty in obtaining assistance have left me feeling unsupported as a former tenant.

I hope Urban Task Force will urgently review this matter, provide the necessary documentation and work towards a fair resolution.
