Treatment and bullying of first year students

Good day,<br> <br> I would like to know theain objectives of the orientation week, first year students are expected to arrive early so they can be bul**** by seniors.<br> Does the University understand that by the time these kids start with school pyschologically they will be demotivated after the orientation week. I witnessed this first hand. How do all these activities and rules assist them academically?<br> They called names, butten, forced to learn languages they do.not even understand, forced to participate, they in the sun the whole day without break intervals, self catering but they do not get time to go cook as they must be busy the whole day, they get telephone duties when do they study if theres a day they must attend to landline phones which belong to the residence.<br> They must bow and speak French when they greet their seniors, they are told what to wear (cant wear shott things), if found talking to a guy outside campus you are fined R150.(are you not allowed yo have friends, mentors, relatinves even boy friend), if you bump into.your senior at a club you must go and leave them there.<br> <br> Honestly wish somebody can look.into this cause it is pure nonsense.
