I am writing regarding my outstanding account relating to blood tests I had done in September last year for Dr Megan. At the time, I made an arrangement with (Mabele Aphane) Lancet to pay R500 per month, which was agreed upon. I have been complying with this arrangement and have made two payments to date. I have also been sending proof of payment every month as required. However, on Friday, I received a telephone call from a company informing me that my account had apparently been handed over for collection. I am extremely concerned and confused as to why this has happened when I have an agreed payment arrangement in place and have been making payments towards the account. I therefore require Lancet to urgently provide me with:

A healthcare cost saving discovery worth sharing.
Recently, after consulting with a registered medical doctor and natural medical practitioner who specialises in reversing metabolic diseases, I was advised to undergo a series of blood tests. When I obtained a quote from Pathcare, the cost was just under R6,000. Unfortunately, these tests were not covered by my Discovery Medical Aid, meaning I would have had to pay the full amount out of pocket. Fortunately, my doctor recommended Universal Pathology Laboratory at 21 Belgravia Road, Cape Town. I had never heard of them before, but I am extremely grateful for the recommendation. To my surprise, the exact same blood tests cost only R1,300 at Universal Pathology Laboratory – a saving of approximately R4,700. In today's economic climate, that difference is significant and makes essential healthcare far more accessible. Beyond the cost savings, the service I received was excellent. The staff were professional, efficient, friendly, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I wanted to share this experience because I suspect many people, like me, may not be aware that there are alternative pathology providers offering the same tests at substantially lower costs. If you're paying out of pocket or your medical aid does not cover certain pathology tests, it may be worth exploring your options.
