Universal Health Care Administrators more important than client
I contacted universal about an unpaid claim. The service provider sent in the claim and after numerous follow-ups revert it back to me. The claim was dated 22/06/2020. I contacted Universal the beginning of September and was told the claim will be processed within 2 weeks. I also requested that an e-mail be sent to me detailing the exact status the payout date. I gave the consultant my e-mail address but received nothing. I phoned again today, a month later and spoke to Mr Trevor Mart. At first thinking I was a service provider he tried to convince me that the medical aid I was on closed on the first of June. This is not true. It closed the end of June. He also told me he was working on this medical aid before and knows exactly what is going on. After finding out I was the actual member he told me in a patronizing why that I should know that nothing can be done without a reference number and I should know this as I have being on this medical aid for years. After a lot of useless discussions he finally took my medical aid number and found out that the claim is still outstanding. I was told that this will be paid out on the 16 of October but this is the is same statements that was previously made to me and the service provider. It is not a huge amount but with legal fees it will just get bigger.
