uNIVERSAL HEALTH - ARE YOU STILL LOOKING AFTER YOUR LOYAL CLIENTS???
During April 2020 after SA went in lockdown my employer issued a notice informing staff that only 50% of salaries was to be paid, the company app**** for TERS but still await the confirmation. Unfortunately I was unable to cover the medical. On the 21st of May I contacted the fund to find out if I could apply for a payment holiday, the consultant told me to hold when she came back she confirmed I do qualify as I had sufficient savings available. I then received a letter from Nicole Titus informing me that my application was rejected. This I found strange according to my last statement from the fund I had in my Accumulated Savings(Prior Years) R22 886 left and in my current savings R11 370. I received a letter from the medical aid that they were in the process of terminating my medical aid if I don’t settle the outstanding fees, I borrowed money and pay the one month and 1/3 of the current month. At this point my medical aid no longer pay for any of our medication even though I had savings left. I accepted the outcome of the payment holiday and app**** to move to a lower plan, Suresh assisted me and on the 3rd of July my application was submitted to the Retentions Department and Khensani Marima. Several follow ups was done and to this date they still not able to provide me with a decision. I’ve been with tis medical aid for 21 years and they were excellent, but reason events make me wonder if I they still that top notch medical aid I joined years ago and if is should not take my business else where. 15 Days later and still no response.
