INVALID VOUCHER PIN NOT RELATED TO ANY METER

I recently rented a place and I Had to buy prepaid electricity, I topped up with R200 and was given a card by our landlord, on it was a 5 digit card number and a meter number, not being fami**** that the meter number was the 11 digit number I used the card number as a meter number,<br> I recently informed Uni pin and was told because the number is invalid the voucher pin is invalid too, according to the NCA this is nonsense, my recharge is lying on their system un-used so my money will be taken by them, The agent I spoke too was not professional and cares less about my problem. if my recharge is not fixed to my meter then I want my R200.00 back, because this is day light *******, I am taking this to the ombudsman, as I know there is no 5 digits meter number according to the research I did today...I need this resolved in 24 hours otherwise I am taking this further....electricity is expensive and to have acompany rip me off is another story.....The no refund was never written in black and white on the slip. serial no:***6

Hello maseym,

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you, when you send the UniPIN request you used as you mentioned the 5 digit number that was on the card as the meter number which is an valid City Power meter number which generates a 16 digit token number. Your landlord should have told you that the meter number is the 11 digit number which is your meter number which is managed by the Prepaid World utility.

UniPIN cannot be held responsible for information which your landlord should have given you.

UniPIN also does not generate the tokens and we do not have any control over it and therefore once a token is generated it cannot be reversed or corrected by UniPIN.
