Dissatisfied

I bought sofas for R23 000. I was advised to use a certain polish by the sales person and I started using it and now the sofas are cracking. I went to the store and I was told that the guarantee which is 12 months has passed. But the problem here is the polish and not the sofas. Which I was advised by the sales person to use the polish. I went to the store twice and I was turned back because 12 months has already past. I cannot afford to have my money thrown down the drain just like that over advice which was given to me by a store consultant.
