Denial of faulty shelves

I purchased a TV stand from UFO and opted to collect the item myself as opposed to paying R650 to have it delivered from Marlboro to my place in Northriding. The TV stand required 2 shelves to be slotted in place, when doing so I then realised that the shelves were not cut to size (this became clear to me when one of the glass doors of the TV stand cracked and the other broke while trying to assemble the stand - please note that no assembly instructions were provided). <br> <br> I then informed UFO and they sent one of their guys to my place to address the matter. He too could not assemble the stand (another of the glass doors broke in the process). The only way the shelf could be installed was by disassembling the stand and then inserting the shelf. UFO are now not willing to admit that the stand they sold me was faulty to begin with and are telling me that the costs of replacing the first broken door as well as the cracked one are to be at my expense. I am also being told that the cost of getting the stand back to their store is also at my expense (all because I did not opt for their delivery when I first acquired the stand). <br> <br> I feel that UFO is trying to take advantage of me.
