Why is Uber wasting our time by sending out invalid promo codes?

I just received a promotional code from Uber. JHB-CATCH. But the app keeps telling me that it is invalid.

Why is Uber wasting our time like this with sick jokes? I really don't have time to waste trying over and over again to apply the invalid code, or to contact Uber through their normal channels, which waste even more of our valuable time.

Looks like I just won't be using Uber for a while.
