Uninsured Uber Driver

A Uber driver smashed into the back on my vehicle only to find out that the driver is driving an informal rental car.

The vehicle is insured by the vehicle owner but the Uber driver has no insurance.

I contacted my lawyer to find out who is liable for the repairs on the vehicle only to be told that it is the Uber driver and not the vehicle owner.

How is it possible that a Uber driver has no insurance?

There is massive damage to our vehicle as the Uber driver smashed into the vehicle at high speed.

I tried to contact Uber but the one number that is on the website is constantly engaged.

How many other Uber drivers are on the road without any insurance?

How is this allowed?

This is frustrating because how is this Uber driver going to pay for the damage on our vehicle?
