Uber's lack of customer service
I had an experience with Uber (on 23rd September) where I left my phone in an Uber car, and have never recovered it. I have found Uber as a company to be non-cooperative. Uber was not only unreacheable as there was no telephone no to call, or any recourse in the absence of my login details to access my profile. I spent a night in another city attempting various ways of loging in, and ultimately successed with the aid of my family who used a laptop I had left in my home city the following morning. Uber allowed us only one call and the driver dropped that call. Subsequent attempts to engage Uber have been in vain - only responding that the driver has not found the lost item, an impossible factor because the phone rang just as I was alighting from the car. As I was searching for it in my bag, as I had already stepped out of the car, the driver took off, and attempts to stop him were unsuccessful. My niece who had been in the Uber with me then called my phone 2 minutes after drop off, it rang a couple of times before it was switched off. Uber has been mild in it's response, and even callous, ending it's message with 'have a nice day,' as if the responses are computer generated. Uber has not followed on the facts of the case - the company could be of help in supplying our law enforcement with certain details, but how does the South African Police Service (Saps) even get hold of Uber when they have no rider of driver profile? I have asked these questions on an email that was supp****, and there has been no response to my last email.
