Uber vehicle cleanliness and roadworthy condition

Uber vehicles are dirty inside and in a very poor state of repair. Two rides recently, vehicle was FILTHY inside and on a second ride the vehicle, again dirty inside and this vehicle broke down at the Linksfield offramp...no clutch/gear selection. Do they ever bother to inspect prospective vehicles that join the fleet?
