Uber taking me for a ride

I am an avid user of the app, it's convenient and affordable and never had any issues.

Yesterday while sitting at home, I receive a notification from my bank that Uber has placed a temporary hold on my account for R500.

Naturally I escalate to Uber support that I did not take any trips at the time of this hold being placed and have never taken a trip for more than R250, I get the feedback that they do not know anything about it.

I had to stop my card and suspend my account which inconveniences me.

UBER WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ABOUT???
