Uber \Surge Charge"is a ripp-off!"""

I find the Uber service economical and convenient, however recently I discovered that they have a Surge Charge at peak periods such as to and from events. We travelled to the beerfest at a reasonable rate but was informed that due to the high demand afterwards, there was a surge charge which is double the normal rate. We were left stranded and eventually did not have a choice but to accept the high fee. R108 to the event and R228 for the return trip!<br> This nullifies their usual competitive rates which will make me think twice when using their services to events such as festivals and rugby matches. <br> A bit of a rip-off I think!!!
