Uber Rude Driver Cancelled Trip. Uber Charged Cancellation Fee plus Full Trip Charge for a Cancelled Trip

UberX Sun Dec 21 2025 I requested an Uber to fetch my family members from Thembisa. When I called the driver to inform him my uncle can see the car further down the street as I had used the home address to book the trip, unaware it won’t take the car to the house 🏠 but further down the road. The driver Bethuel Freedom didn’t listen to me asking the driver further up as the elders could see his car but are a bit far. He ranted about people requesting a trip and not be at the pick up point and ended up telling me it’s his car. I got annoyed with him not listening to what I was saying, the passengers didn’t book the trip, I did hence call. He cancelled trip. Failed trip with a R15 cancellation fee plus R287 debit charge on my card for the trip. I wrote to Uber to refund the R287, to date, they haven’t refunded the cash to my credit card.

I subsequently requested another ride and it went successful, I called the driver to explain the address issue and he was nice to wait for the couple as they walked to where the car was parked. I was charger R290 for this trip.
