Uber protecting crimimals

Somehow my bank card was cloned and payments made through/for Uber. I contacted Uber to find out how this happened and to get the information of the person using my details to enable me to press charges, but according to Uber the information could not be traced on their system. How is that possible? So, Uber is covering for ******* transactions and protecting ********s.
