Uber owners abusive towards drivers

Ive been an uber driver for a year now, and I really enjoy the platform, I feel its a nice way for some of us to make money without having to work for a boss, and on our own times so I enjoy the freedom. What I find really sad is that owners with slots and cars really abuse their power, as they can choose to take your vehicle away at any time, they can choose not to pay you whenever they feel, and if they dont update paperwork in time, you can easily sit without work for 1 or 2 weeks. As a driver I spend alot of time on the road and have to make lots of sacrifices, but owners can just do to us as they please. Is there a possibility that uber can protect the drivers from terrible owners by any chance? This has got to stop. Some of us dont have slots of our own so we are forced to take whatever is handed to us. Also some owners are sitting with 30 slots, and therefore it makes it harder and longer for some of us to get slots. I hope to get some feedback on this.
