Uber not willing to help stop ******** actions

We contacted Uber w.r.t to a ********** transaction. Which we picked up just after the Uber driver picked up our property. We phoned Uber and told them how the driver told us he will bring our property back if we pay him petrol money, which is *********. They said to us they cannot do anything, the person who spoke to us is called something like Noman or Numan.
