Uber not operating to/from Lanseria Airport

I regularly use Uber, and think they are fantastic and their service is great. However, on Sunday night my wife and I flew back into Jozi (Lanseria) from Durbs and on arrival I requested a Uber taxi as normal to get us home... but when the taxi arrived at Lanseria drop-off/pick-up, they were chased away by airport authorities! Hence, we were left stranded and had to draw cash and make alternative arrangements late at night which was of massive inconvenience. Their explanation was that ACSA are putting in measures to stop Uber from operating at any SA airport as they are not registered with the taxi association? Is this true?<br> Either Uber needs to investigate this matter, or warn SA clients that they do not operate from airports anymore so we can play accordingly. <br> All seems rather silly to me... Whats the difference if i have a family member pick me up or a private driver through Uber. After all, that's why airports have drop-off/pick-up points. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the taxi association trying to intervene due to Uber's growing success in SA.<br> <br>
