Uber hires unsafe ******** drivers and take no accountability for emergency and urgent scenarios.

Uber is hiring unsafe ********* as divers and takes no responsibility for what their drivers do. Furthermore, they do not keep to their brand promise AT ALL. Their services in attending important and urgent issues surrounding their offering and brand image are absolutely disgusting. I have stated that the Uber driver Spamandla most definitely STOLE my 1-month-old (brand new) Huawei p30 pro valued at +- R18000.00 on purpose with malicious intentions. The driver was highly unprofessional and rude dropping myself and a friend off at the wrong location and not even giving us change. As to those two elements, my phone was still left in his car as I was not ready to be dropped. usually, Ubers are meant to wait till the client is satisfied with the location and making sure the client is safe, have everything they need and most certainly give the client their change!..no this uber diver was quick to just abruptly close the doors and drive off while I was running and shouting after him to stop my phone is still in the vehicle. No change and not the right place! I am almost certain he could see me and security guards trying to shout to stop him for 3 blocks but he just kept on driving. Their so-called specialized services around this issue Lynett in particular amongst others I have tried speaking to numerous services helplines on uber, that would tell me that after the 24-hour mark they would phone me and keep in contact with me for further steps to be taken. However, very blunt emails repeating the same notion of contacting the diver and NO follow up phone calls have been made as promised and it has already been over 2 weeks! I feel uber has been highly unprofessional in resolving this issue and this instance will most certainly damper on their brand reputation. How can they allow such divers in their business? secondly, how can they be so unhelpful and unattentive in the matter? I understand in their conduct it is stated divers and uber are not responsible for left items in uber Vehicles. However, this was not a matter of leaving things behind it was purposeful malicious intentions by an Uber driver. I immediately knew it was in there and he drove off in the unprofessional manner as stated above. I have 2 witnesses of the matter. now I had taken matters in my own hands and reported to the police with all information and communication captured from Uber. Including how I located my phone in Alexandria Township that following evening.. I understand the driver's name was Sphamandla and he drove a silver Hyundai Accent. Yet iv asked uber to at least forward me the rest of the vehicle and driver details. I believed it is the least they can do. Furthermore, the phone is worth alot of money I expect to be reimbursed in somewhat way for the trip at least. I am usually a very faithful and loyal client to uber but this has been extremely disgusting and offputting They have made incredibly poor efforts in keeping me in the loop and taking responsibility for their services. Coming from a person who has studied brand building and management this has been a sensitive and urgent issue that deserves at least one consistent uber agent actively phoning in and emailing me the progress of what is happening in contact of the driver. Such as his removal from Uber until the phone is returned and legal processes so that such a driver can never be employed and reimbur*****t of the horrible incident described. Instead, I have been constantly phoning in and having to verify myself to different people telling me the same story in a "helpful manner" but little feedback or follow up on what is stated in the phone calls (Not as previously stated not once did uber actually phone me as promised). I highly suggest better management of such incidents to streamline communication to be more personal and efficient in these sorts of sensitive and urgent incidents. (Even after visiting the head office due to frustration a lady called "B" in charge of such matters gave me her number, saying they off to a meeting in the other office unfortunately so I must just phone her and she will help me. - I phoned her gave her the information, she said she would look into it and I said I will phone her back after she does so to find out what is happening, I phoned so many times no answer and she did not get back to me still from last week Friday.) Beyond that after requesting more information about the driver for the police .. uber just directed me to Uber law enforcement forums to repeat myself once again and i requested such information would be sent to me the next day. No, it has been over a week since that request and almost 3 since the incident. They do not even have THE DECENCY TO OFFER THE REQUIRED INFORMATION TO THE POLICE. Needless to say this Uber story and their service offering and policies in place are absolutely horrifying and they cannot be a trusted brand.
