Uber falsely lure customers in paying for undelivered services.

I opened the Uber App to find out what the cost of a trip from home to OR Tambo airport would be. In the process I had to confirm the pick-up point. Without further notification, 5 minutes later an Uber driver arrived at my property, ready to pick me up.

The next moment I received a notification that the full amount for the ride has been deducted from my Credit Card account.

I never confirmed the RIDE, only the pick-up point. Uber is using tis subtle nuance in the transaction, to force you to make a payment as if you have agreed to the pick-up. Devious, Surreptitious, Underhanded and Greedy.

It will have zero effect on their business model, if they will insert a step called "confirm the transaction" stating the price and other detail. I find this kind of behaviour reprehensible and not befitting an international enterprise.

On the positive side, Uber has changed the world of public travel for the good. It need not engage in the business of short-changing its customers.
