UBER DRUNK DRIVER ON CHRISTMAS

My daughter and her boyfriend took an Uber back home on Christmas at around 9pm. The driver was only rated a 3.6 which concerned me. When my daughter later called me to say they were home, she said the driver was very drunk ... he was driving slowly but swaying on the road. At a busy intersection in Sandton, he drove straight through the red robot and they were almost involved in a serious accident. My daughter's boyfriend reported the incident to Uber immediately. But this is totally unacceptable. Uber should seriously consider making it legislation that all drivers carry a breathalyzer kit with them, so that if asked by the passengers, the driver can prove he has not been drinking. I will never again make use of Uber over the festive season ... far too risky! And I will never again make use of an Uber if the driver's rating is anything less than about 4.7
