Uber drivers involved in Theft

I advertised an item on Gumtree on 20 July 2017. I was then contacted by a man called Malvin Nashe saying he was interested in purchasing the item. he then made arrangements with Uber to come and collect the item. The Uber driver arrived at 9:38 pm and then another at 10:26, but i had already given the item to the first driver when i received POP from the buyer.

The money had still not cleared, even after receiving texts and am email from bidvest bank confirming.

I then discussed the incident with 2 close friends, and they confirmed the same thing had happened to them - this including jewelry to the value of R4000 and an Apple Ipad. All incidents involving Uber.

I did some research and confirmed that there is a syndicate who strikes deals with these Uber drivers for them to come out to collect these items, and that this happens quite often, especially with high valued items.

Melvin claims he works for Eskom, but is actually situated in Milnerton, Nigerian nationality.

I have all his details as well as the Uber drivers involved.

Something has to be done, because the police is useless.
