Uber driver smashes my car!

On Saturday 24 November 2018 at approximately 13:15pm, your driver Mr Nkosinathi Mbutha (ID Number: ********** 675084) caused us a great deal of stress due to an accident caused by himself.

We were heading north on Marble Ray Drive and Mr Mbutha, was on the opposite lane. Mr Mbutha made an abrupt left turn without indicating, which caused my fiancé, Mr Aroshan Dawson (ID Number: ********** 094085) to slam the breaks. Unfortunately, my fiancé could not stop in time, causing our car (front passenger side) to slam into the rear end of Mr Mbuthas car. Please note that I , Shardonnay Pillay (ID: ********** 110084) was a passenger in the vehicle and experienced the impact first hand. Please do understand that my fiancé had the right of way as there is no yield or stop sign as indicated in the below image. Mr Mbutha made such an abrupt turn that he turned onto the wrong side of the road and could have endangered more lives. When we did jump off the car, Mr Mbutha immediately apologized and admitted that he was at fault, however when the police arrived on scene, he changed his statement and tried to push the blame on my fiancé. It is evident from all images provided that Mr Mbutha was wrong and should be held accountable for this error. Being a passenger in the vehicle and an eye witness, i am still unable to understand what Mr Mbutha was thinking when he took the decision to turn when we were so close by. Aroshan and I are extremely traumatized by this situation and cannot seem to get over the fact that Mr Mbutha actually tried to blame us for his error. We are now left with a car that is not road worthy and a lot of repairs to be done. Where exactly are we supposed to get the money for all the expenses?

Uber SA is a reputable company. My fiancé and I have used your services on countless occasions. You cannot begin to understand the level of disappointment we have towards your driver and as well as your company. The people you employ represent your company and have the responsibility of so many lives in their hands, yet Mr Mbutha showed no responsibility or compassion for the accident he caused. Would you seriously want such people carrying your name and clients? We could have lost our lives if Aroshan did not react quickly. Just think that headlines would read "Uber Driver ****s 2 due to fatal mistake". Would you rather wait for such headlines to be published or would you rather use this situation as an eye opener?

Please Uber SA, make a change.

Please feel free to contact Aroshan or myself to discuss this further.
