Uber driver ran into the gate at my complex and damaged the sensor

Uber driver ran into the gate at my complex and damaged the sensor. A case was opened by the security guard. I had to pay for the damage. I have been trying to claim this back from Uber as it was their driver who caused the damage. Uber says they cannot find the trip on their system
